When in Paris, go to a Brasserie ! Well, yes, we did ! While waiting for our train back to Brussels we were told by a local client that this place was definitely good. It did not disappoint. Excellent food and excellent service (which is surprising for Paris). It has everything you would expect from a brasserie. It is located right across the entrance of the Gare du Nord and it is super funny that it is surrounded by american chains: Popeyes, Five Guys, Burger King, etc. Why would you go to such chains when you have an amazing and authentic French food right before your eyes? Anyway, don't think twice, just come in and enjoy the steak, the crepe and the mussels which were the favorites among our group.

Beautiful restaurant right in front of the Gare du Nord and part of the hotel.
Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Our waitress spoke English not too well but enough to get our order going. The restaurant is fairly big. Tables were lined with white table clothes and white sconce lights were scattered on the wooden panels lining the walls.
We ordered the fois gras, steak and frites $31, French onion soup $9, prawns $20 and beef tartare $22. All were really fresh and tasty. For dessert we ordered the il floatante $9, which is a French dessert for floating island, a marshmallow floating on vanilla cream sauce. Fairly sweet but still good.
They also have set prices for 2 courses (starter and main or main and dessert) $23 or 3 courses for $29.50.
Overall, a lovely decadent restaurant with welcoming and attentive staff, plus some great French food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan M.Roseville, United States4466 Nov 2023

Excellent service and food. I only had mussels, but they were divine. Large portion for the price. I could not finish the plate! Will be back!

As places to eat before getting on a train go, this isn't too bad. The mirrors and brass, and uniformed waiters go some way to recapturing the glamour of travel; the food is good, but not quite hitting the same pitch as more modern French restaurants in which Paris abounds. Still, if you're after a bit of ballast before a long train journey ( which you're happy sleeping through), you could do a lot worse than a lunch here ( think French onion soup or a terrine , a plate of oysters, then perhaps the choucroute- maybe a carafe of something?). The iles-flottante is also pretty spectacular. A wider range of opening hours than many other restaurants and bistro.

I was pushing it a bit, going for a coffee before tackling the challenge of going through UK border control, but I had to have something before jumping on the Eurostar. This place wasn't all that flashy, and it was a little slow. The other thing is that the table service annoys me because I do like having a nosey inside. Still, I got my coffee, which really wasn't all that fantastic anyway. However, it worked out okay. The place is convenient, but not really that fantastic.

I've been eating at Terminus Nord for over 30 years and thankfully very little has changed over that time.
Terminus Nord is a classic French brasserie and has a menu that doesn't change much from season to season apart from the amazing fresh seafood and shellfish served during months with a "r" in them.
I started with 6 escargots which same swimming in garlic butter. This was followed by an amazing Dover Sole which was massive, very tasty and very fresh. My companions enjoyed the classic French onion soup and a plateau de fruits de mer.
The wine list is extensive and reasonable and the service very professional.
I hope that Terminus Nord continues as is, and resists the temptation to change. It's terrific the way it is.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kim K.Dallas, United States13023296 Dec 2019
This restaurant was conveniently located right below our hotel in Paris and my mom and I came here for wine and oysters during dinner time. Although the place was busy, we were seated within minutes. We ordered The oyster sheller's platter which came with 8 oysters and bread and although we only came for appetizers we were quite full! Our server was very friendly and our experience was pleasant!

We had to be at the Gare du Nord for the 11AM Eurostar to London. We saw this place and it does look nice from the outside. Our server was amicable enough, and spoke just enough English to get by. The food was of good quality and the prices were reasonable. The location and price make this a good choice if you're departing Paris via the train.
