Best gelateria in Bergamo, Del Borsa may not have the best gelato in Italy, but the price/quality relation is simply amazing! Gelato is made without excessive use of colorants or preservatives, is always fresh and the choice of flavours is abundant. One will not find any fancy specialties here, but classical Italian are perfectly executed. Prices provide a welcome reprieve from rampant inflation in gelato prices across Italy: the biggest cup (3 flavours) costs 2.30 euro and price per kg is only 9 kg!
Gelateria Del Borsa is a bit away from the city center (about 1.5 km to the left from the railway station) and is mostly patronized by locals - no tourists here. In addition to gelato, del Borsa also makes bread, pastries and tempting frozen cakes.
Overall, one of the best places to buy gelato in Italy. Worth a trip from Milan and definitely recommended.
