I recently visited the emergency department at St. Ann's via ambulance. It happens to be the closest hospital to where I live. It wouldn't have been my first choice of where to go. I've previously been admitted to both OSU Wexner Medical Center and Riverside Hospital.

All of that said, my only real complaint is that the chart is not available to my primary care team in the OSU system. My charts with OSU and Ohio Health are linked, so they can all see my continuum of care. I took screen shots of my Mount Carmel test results to share with my OSU care provider.

When you come in by ambulance as I did, you get priority in the emergency department. So I got a room right away, and I was seen very quickly. I had donated blood earlier in the afternoon but after dinner I was passing out. They did all the standard tests and determined that my heart was fine. The nurses were responsive and helpful. The most impressive part of this visit was how quickly I was discharged. I expected a very late night, waiting for test results to come back, but the time came more quickly than I anticipated. I spent a total of three hours there. (I think. I was a little out of it at the beginning and not paying attention to when exactly I arrived.)

It was not great that I couldn't have anyone with me, but that's this covid world we're living in. I didn't even have my phone to call my husband, but fortunately the nurse let me borrow his. We even had to coordinate my husband dropping off new clothes for me, since what I had been wearing was soiled. The nursing team handled that without any issues.

By the time I left, I was able to walk on my own without assistance and without passing out. Of course, they always wheel you out regardless of how well you can walk on your own! At least in my experience.

Thank you, Mount Carmel St. Ann's for taking such good care of me. Now if you could just link your charts!

I was taken to st anns due to difficulty in breathing. I was admitted do to pneumonia. What we didn't know was that I had severe sepsis. And was not tested for that for 3 days. One thing about me is that I'm a pain patient. So I take several pain pills throughout the day. I can honestly say is triple pneumonia is very painful, and they were not giving me anything for pain. I was not being monitored, and I had a tube in my chest pulling out infection. My family was shocked at the lack of care I was receiving.I can honestly say if my family had been there, I'm not sure if I would stay be here. I could be writing all day to go through everything. By day 7, I was finally put in ICU. The lack of care I had, I stopped breathing. So I had to be intubated. By day 3 in ICU I was starting to get better. By day 5 they were able to uninitibate. So I was finally able to breathe alot better. And covered in bruises. My experience there was so bad I will never go there as long as I'm conscious.

My brother went into the emergency room at St. Ann's on August 8, 2023. He had chest pain. He was made to wait in the waiting room for 3 hours while he had a heart attack. Totally not acceptable and borders on negligence.

Horrible staff will lie and say they are helping patients and not. Will say family is hindering staff caring for patient when staff love to not do their jobs.

My mom had surgery at St. Ann's . I was very surprised about changes since I have last been to this hospital. The hospital unit was immaculate and my mom's room very bright and welcoming. The staff on the unit treated my mom with kindness and respect. I would recommend this hospital!

Got some really good care here. I went to the ER for severe stomach pain, they got me back rather quickly. I ended up having to have emergency surgery the next day. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I was a bit nervous about having surgery, but the surgeon was very professional and made me feel at ease with the whole process.

      Updated review

I was scheduled to have a CTA test at the main hospital of St. Ann's, but did not know what to study.

In any case, the nurses and technicians who prepared me for the test helped me to relax and were willing to answer any questions I might have.

I normally get anxious before any hospital procedure for me, yet I could watch blood squirting from my wife or anyone else, if need be. But, when it comes to me, it's a completely different story. I'd rather not - thank you.

The CTA required an IV for blood draws and to administer the dye (contrast). I was pushed into a larger fixture that looked like a big metal inner tube, of sorts. (See picture)

Because this machine allows the doctor to take images of my heart in an effort to learn the present condition of any blockages. After the initial "test," I was pulled out and the procedure with the contrast was explained.

Craig, the technician and nurses who were present explained that it would be pretty common to have any of several reactions to the contrast; feeling as though my bladder or even my bowel was full and needed to be emptied, legs or arms twitching (I do that already with my Parkinson's), or I might have a headache or stomach ache.

Nope! I had to be different and do something they had not witnessed before - almost immediately, I started sneezing. I tried as best I could to hold back during the test, but as soon as I came out, I really let loose. I knew they would have to wipe down the machine afterward, but they told me that I provided a new reaction they would have to add to their list.

At least the room was immaculate when I arrived and I knew it would be again before the next person needed the room.

Very unprofessional and rude employees. We came in to visit a patient and was told only 1 guest did to COVID. The way the receptionist spoke is unprofessional. We didn't argue with it and when I politely asked if I could wait in the waiting area, she was even more rude.
It's just a job, you are replaceable, lighten up and smile.

I fell on the 17th of November on our driveway.
I managed to mess up my knee and shoulder. I also messed up my ankle and foot. The ER was not overflowing with people and the staff actually had time to talk to you and find out what took you to the ER. I had not planned on going to the hospital but the pain in my knee and foot were not letting up. Also my left shoulder had joined in with the rest of the pains!
When we got there the ER waiting room was almost empty! There was 1 person ahead of me! Usually when you go to the ER you wait for hours!
Too many people use the ER as their doctors office and unfortunately injured patients wait for many hours! I was grateful this afternoon wasn't one of those! I was taken into triage and they did all of their checks and I was escorted back into the room for people like me that had managed to fall and hurt myself! Have I ever told you that I am very clumsy?
I was back there for about ten minutes and then taken to have X-rays of my painful parts!
The X-ray tech was great and helped me as I gingerly moved about! She was so sweet and she took the necessary pictures for the doctor. I was then returned to the little cubby I was sharing with others that had managed to get themselves injured enough to visit the ER.
Shortly after my return, my nurse came in and moved me to the next bay to tell me what they had found.
Thankfully nothing was broken but I had managed to sprain my foot and ankle, bruised my knee and shoulder! As they were getting me ready to leave, I was given a very strange shoe to wear on my left foot. I'm still pretty sure that this has helped and the pain is slowly getting better!
I'm very thankful for the care I received and instructions to help me to get to feeling better! Thank you all for my wonderful care!

Relaxing, comfortable waiting area for outpatient registration.
Surprisingly they are not very busy here today and I could get in very quickly - about 5 minutes.

This is truly one of the worst hospitals in Columbus ... it use to be one of the best BUT dang WTF happen.
Over 6 1/2 hours waiting at the ER to get serviced. Another 1 1/2 to get a reply from the Doctor on duty... her answer.... I DONT KNOW, WHAT!!!!!!! You so t know, well that was a lot of help. Here's a referral.......... now waiting for another 1 1/2 hours for discharge papers and STILL WAITING! NEVER AGAIN NEVER at St Ann's Mt Carmel. So very sad... they have made my dead folks roll over in their gravel. REALLY!!!
