Top notch local ales and great food at the Shiremoor Farm. I particularly like the medallions of beef with black pudding and pepper sauce.
Throw in plenty of parking and outdoor seating, this place is a winner. It's a fair size as well so you can usually get a table without booking (would book for Sunday lunch though).
Highly recommended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wallis P.Newcastle, United Kingdom1117325 Jun 2015
Starter was lovely but the chicken on the Sunday lunch tasted boiled had no seasoning or taste so was left! Pork wasn't that good either, beef was good though , deserts and starters are good but like I say would not recomended the chicken

star deduction: the icing on the cake was missing.. The vegetables weren't fresh but from the freezer.
As already mentioned before: it is very cosy inside! :) The owner is from Fitzgeralds!
It seems to be well-known for it tasty food and the nice variety or meals. That's why it's often very busy in here!
When we ordered our 4 meals at the bar, we got them in less than 15 minutes. The prices are great! So you'll get quality and quantity for a good price!
Parking spaces are available!
In summer you can sit outside.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (rubber…)Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom012217 Jul 2011
never been disappointed here, it is a little more pricey than other places but you absolutely get what you pay for. Sunday lunches are most impressive

Often busy / packed this does a wide range of food and seems to be less pre-packed than some other popular pubs in and around Newcastle. Parking fine and atmosphere family friendly ; often 3 generations eating there. Someteimes takes a while to get a seat at the weekend. Beer reasonably priced

Good place to come for a pub lunch. Extensive menu along with options for children. It's usually busy but there is plenty of parking. All the food I've had has been of a high qulaity and there is often new items on the menu.
It's a bit pricey but then the food is good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John B.North Shields, United Kingdom2125 Oct 2014

Have been here a few times mostly for lunch, and it's always been fine. Evenings it's a bit full and noisy, but if you like that atmosphere then you'll like it. Food good, service can be a little slow, but I suspect it's acceptable for such a popular place

This is one of my favourite places to eat!! Shiremoor House Farm is a cozy and welcoming pub/restaurant located on the corner of Middle Engine Lane in North Shields. A converted farm building, it has exposed stone walls and floors, lovely old wood furniture and warm open fires inside. The food served (in my experience) has always been of an excellent standard and in large portions making it good value for money. They use fresh ingredients, local produce and the menu changes quite regularly. Although it serves a lot of classic 'British' meals it also has a large range of other dishes so there is something for everyone. Be warned, this place gets busy, especially on a Sunday! There is an outdoor seating area with heat lamps for those chilly nights and it hosts a quiz on a Monday night.

Great place to go for food, with the menu a step up from normal pub food. Service is good and the interior decor is cosy and well maintained. All in all a great place to eat but too far out the way to go for just drinks.
