This small and thriving practice is a godsend if you don't know much about alternative therapies. They have a really well stocked health shop which makes treatments and medicines accessible to the public. The practice is geared largely towards allowing you as the patient to work out your own treatments after having had a consultation with the naturopaths or homeopathic specialist. The shop also stock their own range of oils and salts. It has 40 practitioners offering a multitude of treatments from massage to Ayurvedic medicine. The Pilates studio is fantastic because you can have a one to one session for 60.00 pounds.Although the treatment rooms are basic they have the most wonderful scent emanating from a combination of oils and white sage-all very soothing and relaxing.

I have to admit that I was actually heading for Lowry & Baker a few doors down on Portobello Road when I noticed a tempting display of fresh breads in the window of Urban Bliss. As there were no seats left at L&B I decided to give this latest addition a try. Apparently, this was their very first day of trading at Urban Bliss (a lovely spa and treatment centre). I also didn't know that Crazy Baker has its main home just up the road in Kensal Green where all the breads and cakes are baked on site.
They offer quite a substantial menu of hot dishes and sandwiches. The tomato & basil soup sounded tempting and didn't disappoint. I was offered a choice of breads and went for toasted spelt which went really well. A free mini pastry to celebrate their first day was a nice touch.
The atmosphere does not match that of the aforementioned competition, but there is probably room for two cafes on this increasingly popular stretch of Portobello Raod. I will definitely come back for some bread to take home, and perhaps the odd lunch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 013 Feb 2012Previous reviewUrbanbliss has been located at the less busy end of Portobello Road for several years now. The street-facing bit has changed every now and again from health shop to a variety of cafes (I particularly liked the raw food outlet a couple of years ago). What hasn't changed is the quality of the therapies on offer. I like the fact that the treatment rooms are rather basic and unfussy. A lot less intimidating and more inviting than fancier salons with their frosted windows and shouty advertisements. Unfortunately, the relaxation of my last massage was disturbed by some rather noisy neighbours stomping above too much like home

this clinic is filled with a variety of amazing therapists. I would highly recommend URBANBLISS as an approachable, helpful and decent company/clinic, who's main aim is to help and inform the patient and produce long term health benefits to all its clients.

i really like it there, the people are so friendly and they have some really knowledgeable therapist. If you are looking to get pregnant and have been having trouble they have a great fertility clinic with an acupuncturist called liz and a nautropath called debbie. i really recommend them, loads of my friends have fallen pregnant with their support.

I've been going to Liz Baron Cohen for acupuncture for a couple of months and love every session. She is very easy to talk to, knowledgable and I have seen positive results from the treatment. Everyone at the clinic is warm and extremely helpful. I can't recommend Urban Bliss highly enough!
