Pretty good Thai food, not watered down in flavors. Best in Taupo for sure. Must try!!

What a great find in Taupo. The food was excellent and the flavors all blended so well. Very pleasant and attentive staff made for a definite repeat anytime we are in Taupo.

My family stayed at Taupo in September 2015. We decided to have our last dinner here. It is located downtown and is beautifully decorated. The service was ok, the waiter seemed a bit turned off by us. It didn't bother us too much. We ordered many different dishes, but none really stood out. The meal was overpriced for the portion and flavor.

I've had better thai iced tea. The one we got seemed watered down. The pad thai was too salty for me. My bf liked it. The shrimp curry special was ok. It was weird they charged for rice, when a couple of blocks down at an Indian restaurant, rice was freely given with the meal. I would have gone to the Indian restaurant again if I had known this. The tom yom soup was tasty. The whole fish we ordered was so small.

My family ended up getting a supplementary dinner after this because it wasn't fulfilling. Perhaps it's because we have had amazing Thai food at home, but we were pretty disappointed with many factors about this restaurant.

Loved Lotus Thai - Absolutely amazing! Definitely one of the best Thai food we've had! Ordered the chicken satay, veggie spring rolls and Tom yum soup. All dishes were delicious! We'd go there again if given a chance :)

Awesome thai joint on Tongariro Street. It was such a comforting reward after a long day of rafting. The place was quite packed so that felt promising.

They offer a pretty inclusive menu and I had a hard time deciding but ended up getting the duck red curry which was great. It had plenty of protein and the curry contained grapes which is something I've never seen. Also, none of the dishes come with rice and when you order it, your server scoops it onto your plate from a community bowl. Lots of groundbreaking stuff happening here folks.

Great Thai food, plenty of options and great prices. A must while in Lake Taupo.
Wife and I had the spring rolls, pad Thai and a curry dish.

The Thai food was a bit on the sweet side. The ambiance was nice. The staff was dressed in traditional clothes. The flat noodle could use a bit more noodle and spice. The Tom yum could be a bit more spicier and less sweet.

Great food, quick service!

My wife had the Tom Yum soup, I had the Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp. Both were excellent dishes!

2nd time to Lotus Thai when passing through Taupo. Has not disappointed either time. Can't fault the food or the service. Penang, beef salad, duck with chilli sauce and cashews - each dish was perfect. Only downside was that there was not a huge quantity for the price - but in this case the quality wins out, and they were generous with the proportion of meat.

The most delicious lamb special served very promptly but perhaps a little on the small side for the price?
The Pad Thai was a tad oily but filled with chicken and prawns as promised and cannot grumble about the price or quantity of this dish.

Just the excellent special quantity and greasy pad thai dragged this from 5 stars to 4 shame....
